Karen O’Reilly – CEO & founder Karen has established, managed and designed a string of successful salons over the last 10 years, including Helmet Palm Beach, Helmet Junior in Paddington and Hare House and Beauty in NSW’s Southern Highlands.
Following a five-year career as one of Asia’s top full-time models and a successful stint in Hong Kong production management, Karen returned to Australia in 1996 and began at Sydney’s most prestigious salon, Helmet. In 1998 she became life and business partner to Helmet’s proprietor, hairstylist and make-up artist Glenn O’Reilly and together they grew the business from a single salon to three. Karen also developed the fragrance- and colour-free children’s hair care range, Helmet Junior.
After a stint in Paris marketing Helmet Junior, Karen returned to Australia and, in 2006, opened the Hare House and Beauty salon. It was during the planning stages of this that Karen saw the need for an industry resource like myhairdressersearch.com – and so it all began. karen@myhairdressersearch.com |

Victoria Meppem – Founding editor Victoria Meppem blames her mum for starting her obsession with hair. "I'll never forget her sticking hot rollers in my hair every morning before I left for primary school so my bob was perfect. It's a bit scary because I see myself doing exactly the same thing with my two-year-old daughter Alice but these days it's with the blow dryer, not rollers." An early passion for beauty and fashion translated into a determination to work in magazines and it was work experience at Vogue when she was 16 that led to a twenty-five year career working in senior beauty roles on Australia's leading magazines like Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, Cosmopolitan and Marie Claire.
Now Victoria finds herself in the role of editing myhairdressersearch.com to keep you up to date with the latest and greatest features, news and profiles in the hair industry. victoria@myhairdressersearch.com
