For bang on five years, Mint Hair and Beauty, in Mooloolaba, QLD, has provided city-chic styling teamed with sky-high service.
“We deliver high standards of service and consistency,” says Mint Hair and Beauty Director, Sam Rizzo, who with multi-award winning stylist Clay Burns runs the salon.
If accolades are anything to go by, Sam’s true to his ethos. In 2006 Mint won 64 International Hairstylists Society (I.H.S) awards, a further 22 I.H.S trophies in 2005 and the Keune National Colour Trophy Award 2008, along with a swag of other awards too numerous to list.
Located just a hair flick from picturesque Mooloolaba Beach, Mint is clean and crisp, with an airy, coastal vibe. Clients arrive, and are whisked into a world revolving completely around them.
“We exceed expectations,” says Sam, “with consultation focusing on how clients want to look, their ability to manage their hair and how much time they want to spend on their hair.”
Indeed, a visit to Mint is holistically fabulous, from the tingling head and scalp massage, to the gourmet coffee, tea and wine on offer, to cutting edge colouring and styling.
“Clients leave confident in their look, in styling their hair and maintaining its health,” reveals Sam. “Passion for our profession is ever-present, so clients continue to receive great hairstyles and top-notch service. We put emphasis on training, education and researching new techniques and trends by visiting international and local trade shows and training workshops.”
When not educating themselves and their team Sam and Clay share their knowledge with stylists across Australia.
”We are members of the Keune International Artistic Team and frequently educate as guest artists.”
Taking inspiration from Vidal Sassoon precision-cutting techniques, Sam predicts a season of “strong lines, combined with softness. We vary clients’ hairstyles so they can wear it in at least two different ways. For example, messy versus smooth, moveable parts, with overlapping sections that can be moved from side to side.”
With an ever-growing client base, including local television, sporting and radio personalities, Sam attributes Mint’s success to “service. We work hard to offer exceptional service and quality products to all our clients. We know we’re doing our jobs well… so many of our new clients recommend their friends and family.”
