In total contrast to Australian Fashion Week's
classical restraint, Hair Expo - and its crop of hairdressers and
groupies - was totally out there.
Most dominant in trends was the punk look, filtering from the
occasional one foot high Mohican right down to heavily spiked short
cuts.
Whether it was music or great new products, or even a bit of native
wildlife that inspired these birds of paradise, it was a relief after
all the control on the runways, both here and overseas.
Maybe it was just that boring return to what worked for Mum that made
these enfants terrible cut loose. Whatever the motivation, MHS's pick
of the bunch were all the mad ones.
